Fall – Minimalist Room Decor ๐Ÿ‚

With October coming up slowly, I decided to give my room a little makeover. I have always loved to decorate my room when the season changes and fall is definitely my favorite one. This year, I decided to do something a little bit more minimalist, but still very hygge and cozy.

When I do room decor, I like to make a Pinterest inspiration board with ideas that I like. Here was my inspo for this room makeover.

I liked the idea of putting fairy lights into the glass jar as well as the neutral tones. I also have a bookshelf in my room that got really cluttered so I wanted to make a change there too.

Nightstand

The first part of my room that I decided to change was my nightstand.

I found this beautiful pyramid-shaped terrarium at the dollar store and put fairy lights inside. I really like the result of it, and at night the fairy lights make it really cozy. For the frame, I printed the definition of the word hygge and put it inside. It does not need to be more costly than that!

Finally, I put some pine cones into a cylindric glass jar to add some fall vibes to the decor.

Working station

I re-decorated my working station not long ago, so I did not make major changes like my nightstand. What I like about my working station is the pegboard.

What I love about pegboard is how easy it is to change the decor. You do not have to glue or nail down anything, you simply use the little pins that come with it, and you can hang up pretty much everything.

For example, I took the cover of a box and hung it on my pegboard to make a little compartment to put my pictures in. It gives a more interesting result than simply sticking them to the wall.

For more information about my working station and where it comes from, see this previous post.

Bookshelf

This is the part of my new room decor that I am the proudest of. My bookshelf was really cluttered, and I had to sort what I was keeping and what I had to toss.

I decided to do a minimalist and simple look but still keep the objects that have a sentimental value. They are more in value in an uncluttered look.

Decorating a bookshelf can seem complicated at first. However, there are some guidelines to help to find a good equilibrium with the objects. First, I stick to three colors: black, green, and gold in this case. One of those colors, green, was my accent. I then alternated the side where I put the accent color to make it pleasant for the eye (see next picture).

And voilร ! You can’t have a bad result using these little tricks.

Bed & Dresser

For the bed sheets and my dresser, I decided to keep the accent color that I chose for the bookshelf, which was light green. I have a beautiful record player of this color, so I thought it would be perfect to continue with this tone. I also love to put vinyl records as part of the decoration. This one is from Taylor Swift, it is her Folklore album that I love.

The pillow is one of the fall decoration items that I purchased in the past, so I do not remember where it comes from, but here is the link to a similar one.

It is a pretty simple decor, but I like to keep it simple when it comes to the bed setting.

This is it for my minimalist/fall room decor! I had a lot of fun doing this little makeover and describing the process of it. I hope it is inspired you to change your room decor as well for fall and make it cozy. Decor blog posts are not something that I do often, but I really enjoy it, so let me know in the comments if that’s something you like as well.

A bientรดt !
