Cat cafés in Québec City

A few weeks ago, for my birthday, I went for the first time to Cat Cafés. As a coffee lover and a cat lover, I really enjoyed the concept and thought I would share my experiences with you of the two locations in Québec City. Enjoy!

Café Félin Chats-Nous

759 Rue Saint-Olivier, Québec

Situated in a beautiful old house, the Café Félin Chats-Nous is a warm cozy space where you can enjoy a coffee with the four cats of the café. When you come in, you have to wear some slippers and wash your hands. You can order beverages, breakfast, lunch, or desserts while enjoying the presence of the cats. The two owners are very kind and will happily tell you more about the different cats. Like Bianco, some of the cats are from animal shelters. One of the cafe’s goals is to promote responsible adoptions of cats from animal shelters. You can find a section dedicated to the topic on their website.

I enjoyed my experience at Café Félin Chats-Nous and will definitely go back. It’s a great concept for those who do not have a cat at home but love these animals. Plus, it is a very original activity!

Café Félin Ma Langue Aux Chats

307 Rue Saint-Paul, Québec

Situated downtown, close to the railway station in Quebec City, the Café Félin Ma Langue Aux Chats is another cute little cat café. Owned by a veteran, the café aims to offer a safe place where you can get some zootherapy with the cats. Indeed, it has been demonstrated that cats can help reduce stress. According to purina.com, “15 to 30 minutes of quality time with a cat can calm your nerves and boost your mood”. 

At first, I didn’t see any cats, but it turned out they were all hidden behind the counter. One of the employees gave to the clients some cat treats, and then the party started! There were cats everywhere, and they were very cuddly. They also have a great menu with homemade food and some board games that you can play while enjoying the presence of the cats.

I have lived in Quebec all my life, and every month I hear about new places that I did not know existed.
